From the start of this project going back to the late 1990s, the Loess Hills Preservation Society has celebrated and been grateful to so many donors. Hundreds of individuals, as well as many foundations, conservation organizations, and public programs. Here, though, are some notable contributions beyond all the others that merit attention.

- The Gilchrist Foundation of Sioux City Iowa gave LHPS a grant of $30,000.00 July 10, 2009 for restoration work at Vincent Bluffs State Preserve.
- The Gilchrist Foundation again gave LHPS a grant of $25,000.00 July 12, 2010 for restoration work at Vincent Bluff State Preserve.
- The Gilchrist Foundation again gave LHPS a grant of $2800.00 for control of the invasive specie Asian bittersweet vine. The Gilchrist website is www.thegilchristfoundation.org
